Former Australian PM Anthony Abbott plays rapid fire with NGO Yuva Unstoppable Scholars

New Delhi (India), April 12: Small and efficient interventions leading to high results and the impact was the message delivered by Former Australian PM Anthony Abbott as he visited and experienced the’ School Transformation Program’ of NGO Yuva Unstoppable’s 4100th school in Patel Nagar, New Delhi on March 4th, 2023. The visit saw the Former PM meet and interact with the students, school authorities and administration & the Yuva Unstoppable team lead by Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer Amitabh Shah.

The guest of honour was taken around the school premises, wherein he first hand experienced the school transformation that takes place at a Yuva Unstoppable school with improvement in sanitation infrastructure, set up of smart classrooms and overall creation of a cheerful and safe learning environment for children. He acknowledged how sometimes small but timely and extremely needed interventions can have far greater results and overall long-term and sustainable impact that can easily be replicated.

The highlight of the visit was the sporting round of rapid-fire that the students played with the Former PM, wherein they asked him questions on his motivations, challenges, his favourite things about India and several others. When quizzed on who he’d wish to have dinner with if he got the chance, he promptly replied back and said – Jesus Christ, Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi. What a donner set-up that would be!

He advised the students to have faith when things may not work out, keep mentally & physically fit and have close friends to share their feelings with. These formulas have always worked for him in times of stress and anger. He further went on to guide them on having big hopes, dreams and aspirations. “It is only when you have big aspirations will you have big disappointments, which will drive and motivate you to do more, achieve more and dream more,” he said. He told them to inculcate the Australian spirit of ‘Have A Go’ – try very hard, don’t be lazy, and if something has to be done, go ahead and do it yourself.

For the students, this experience of hearing from a truly inspiring leader will go a long way in shaping their thoughts and experiences as they move ahead in life. At Yuva Unstoppable, the aim is to provide such opportunities for these children to make them realise their true potential and become contributing members of society.

“This is a truly motivational experience not only for the students but for all of us present here today. Listening to Tony speak about his definition of true success – spreading happiness, working with and for others, silent workers leads me to believe that we at Yuva Unstoppable are on the right path. Our successful idols are our teachers, our mothers, our volunteers who fulfil their commitments with dedication and sincerity” – Amitabh Shah, Yuva Unstoppable.
