The academic year 2023-24 looks promising for hospitality education. British Columbia College of Management (BCCM) has launched new academic programs for 2023. The courses being offered include:

  • Doctor of Business Administration
  • Online courses in Hotel Management
  • Wings-Up Career Employability Program

New Delhi (India), February 6: British Columbia College of Management announces the debut of its online course in Hotel Management for working professionals. Set effectively for a duration of 12 months, the enrolled participants will be given the flexibility to learn at their own pace and attend virtual classes during weekends.

British Columbia College of Management (BCCM) offers a bouquet of courses that shape the perfect hospitality professional,” explains Mr. Deepak Jha, MD and CEO of BCCM.

The Advance Post Graduation Diploma Program (APGD) enables professionals to get a boost by filling in their career gaps and ensuring leadership skills at the supervisory/management level in the hospitality and tourism business. The program also allows the participants to choose any one value-added course for soft skill development. 

Students with a Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent qualification from a recognised university (from India or abroad) are eligible for admission to the course. On completion of APGD, students will be honoured with a PG Diploma from a well-recognised university in Florida, USA.

The BCCM Research Program, Doctor in Business Administration, DBA, educates its doctoral students in scientific research, giving them an opportunity to build a network within academic and corporate communities. The Doctoral Program can be pursued even as the candidates continue to pursue their professional responsibilities. The eligibility for the program is a Master’s degree awarded by an officially acknowledged higher education institute or graduates who have a degree that is directly comparable to a Post Graduate degree or equivalent to a Master’s degree.

BCCM offers an online Undergraduate 12 months program, the curriculum for which has been designed using the blended learning method, ensuring that the students get both theory and practical exposure (4 months of online mode of learning and 8 months of online mode weekend classes along with Internship training). The minimum eligibility for this course is a 12th pass in any stream or its equivalent. These programs – Diploma in Hotel Management and Administration, Diploma in Food and Service Management, and Diploma in Culinary Management, provides the fundamental aspect of hotels, such as an overview of F&B Management, Accommodation Management, Tourism Industry, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, and non-operational department process.

After completion of the course, students can look forward to placement at various levels like management/supervisory/entry-level in the hospitality and tourism Industry by beginning their career as Management Trainees, Help Desk Assistants, Assistants in government recognised Tourist Information Centre, hospitals, institutional catering, a team member in fast food outlets, cruise liners, etc.

The BCCM Mentoring Club has launched the Wings-Up Career Employability Program for fresh graduates and degree holders who are still waiting for the right job opportunities. BCCM offers a 3-month online program where candidates will be provided training from BCCM’s internationally certified trainers who will prepare them to get into the corporate world, allowing them to work with companies like IFFCO, Tokio, Accenture, and HDFC, to name a few.

BCCM has partnered with an eclectic mix of entities like the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), Shri Venkateshwara University, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth in India, and Selkirk College, Can Pathways, Yogi’s Kitchen, Revolution Hotel Group, Niagara College, and World Trade Centre in Canada to optimise the opportunities for its students.
